Connecting with Others
While attacks of this nature can feel inherently isolating, it is important to remember that you are not alone in facing this. This resource was compiled from dozens of organizations which are put together to support people and teams facing what you’re facing.
The best way to reduce the experience of isolation is to lean into connection, whether with other individuals or other teams. Facilitating connections both within the team and with members of other organizations who have seen similar experiences will start to move all of us towards a world where LGBTQ+ advocates exist in robust networks of mutual care that can shake off these attacks like they’re nothing.
The first step towards that world is to start with the tools in this manual, to communicate to your team members that you understand the threats they are facing, you are committed to their safety, and you will do what’s necessary to protect them.
We’ve got a long way to go, but we’ll get there together.
